Equus

A series of ten oil paintings on paper in which I have allowed my imagination to canter at will after sketching some horses grazing out in the fields. I love to draw and paint movement, and these powerful creatures are never still, even if it’s just the twitch of a tendon or the switch of a tail at an irritating fly. Overlaying my drawings gave rise to new shapes and settings for the horses of my imagination, some enjoying a wild gallop in the surf, others having a dignified heraldic air, ready for the joust.
